Here are a few of the children that are part of the Peace Program

Here are some pictures from the PEace Program. this program is through united with hope. these children go to pastor francis home daily where a hired teacher tutors them for three hours a day and provides one meal a day for the children six days a week. do you want to know what it cost, for only $7 dollars a month, these children eat once a day and tutoring to get them ready for the ability to go to the government schools. most of these children would not be eating at all if it were not for pastor francis and his peace program.

Here are a few of the widows whom i write to

Here are several widowed women that I write to through Child Hope Zambia in Zambia and Mwana Hope Zambia here in the US.  I can provide them with extra gifts as well. The extra gifts are not expensive, things like a washing tub for $5, 25 kg of mealie meal is $12.50, utensils, apron $3 etc.. you can do all kinds of things for them or you can simply write letters to encourage these women, the matriarchs, teh leaders of their communities. It is an excellent way to learn about another culture without having to spend a lot. It cost about a dollar to send a letter to Zambia.  These women are dying for outside contact, to meet and write women from other parts of the world, although i am positive that they would also love to talk to a man as well, they really desperately want to talk to outsiders. so if you can find it in your heart to make a friend, to get sto know someone that has strong faith and a hard life but still has hope and wants to make friends, then go ahead and contact chz about their widow program.

It has been a while

I have not posted much on this blog, but it is not for lack of caring. I have been taking the time to read and learn about a lot of different organizations out there that help a wide range of kids in a wide range of countries. I am partial to several organizations. I think that most of you know that know that i sponsor through Mwana Hope Zambia and i truly believe that it is one of the best program s around and i believe what the sponsorship program is doing as well as what the program that has been in place for 12 years is doing in regards to education, hiv activism, widow care and assistance etc.. I have also found United with Hope which offers the Peace Tutoring program, the amma irene home where dDurga and Sujeeth actually bring orphan children into their home and provide them with love and stability and a chance for an education. Then there are programs like like the His Hands for Africa, His Hands for Haiti, etc, and not to be forgotten New Victory in Uganda.

I am not the best fund raiser, i am not the most organized person and i certainly am not the best person for this, but with that said, i am still working to help each organization in a different way. lets be real, even if i am not the best at a lot of things, it doesnt matter, what does matter is that i do something, i take the time and make the effort to help. we are either part of the problem or part of the solution, what matters is do we turn our backs or do we make a difference and do something. each one of us has the opportunity to help. lets be real, we can not solve the problem, we can not  save every child, we can not change every child's life, but we can make a difference for one child at a time.. it makes a difference , i can make a difference, you can make a difference .. so i dare you, if you are not already helping in some way.. find a way to help, wether it be locally, in your own community through a tutoring program, sponsor a child.. it is not as expensive as you think.. really can you not afford aslittle as $7 a month, $9 per month , 10-12.50 a month, up to 22 per month... .so.. there are a lot of programs doing different things for kids in different countries. ...
think about it, then just do it..

One L.i.f.e. one child- like the starfish

I have started a yahoo group for discussion and sharing about the assorted child sponsorship programs, feeding programs and education programs. There are so very many worthwhile groups, both secular and non-secular that are doing amazing work. It is unfortunate, but many of the groups do not want you to talk about other groups and in fact are very strict about this ( others are far more lax) either way.. it upset me and i decided to start this group. It is a place where we can discuss all of our sponsored children, how the different sponsorship groups can be improved, aspects we like about some of them and what we do not like and would like to see improved. WE can discuss how we think child sponsorship helps, how community sponsorship helps and ways that we can all help to assist more children to be raised out of poverty, get needed medical care, prevent the infection of HIV/AIDS- or help the poorest receive appropriate treatment with antiretroviral medications. PLease invite everyone that you know to this group. Is someone on the fence about sponsoring a child for the first time? If they are , then invite them to the group. Eventually I would like to see the group doing fund raising for many organizations. It is a dream, but maybe one day we can reach that point. So please, join us, join the yahoo group and tell us about yourself. If you join the yahoo group and would like to share then I will post your story on the blog, with your permission of course.

This group is for all people that are interested in changing the lives of children trapped in poverty,HIV/AIDS orphans, and other at risk children. Do you sponsor children from any of the hundreds of great organizations out there? Do you wanted to be counted? Counted as having taken the step to change the life of one child. One child, like the starfish, it matters to the child in question. Mother Teresa said,"if you can not feed a hundred, then feed one" This group will attempt to further the needs of at risk children in their communities, to help with fund raising, education, talking about the children we sponsor, how can we be better sponsors, how we can help fund raise for our individual groups or specific special needs projects, as well as attempting to invite people that have not sponsored a child and get them involved in one of the many wonderful groups out here on the internet. There are many wonderful groups, but there is not a place for people from all the different sponsorship groups to come together and chat. Everything is divided into small little groups and people from the different groups do not get together and chat about the overall issues.

Live- help a child live life
Independence from Poverty
Fight HIV/AIDS
Education

We may not be able to save every child or change the world, but it will matter to the child that we do help, it will matter to their friends and families. It is always worth it. It is important to support the children, as well as the widows, education in these communities is the key for change. The children must receive an education if we are to see this seemingly endless poverty come to an end.
